On our second day in Mexico our biggest plan was to go to Wal-Mart and get some groceries to keep at our condo. So they had a shuttle from our condo that took us into town and it cost $5 each person, which is not bad at all compared to how much a taxi cost. So we got ready for the day and hopped on the shuttle and went into town. We found the Wal-Mart fairly easily and after going up the elevator and walked in, this was the first thing that I saw.
Notice the big $185 sign! This was all over the store and I completely panicked cause we did not have that kind of money to just buy groceries. After a few seconds I realized we were not in America anymore and that these were Pesos not Dollars and I was totally fine after that. So we bought all our groceries and headed back to the condo to eat and just relax by the pool. We had bought a frozen pizza and planned to throw it in the oven and eat that for dinner that night. Well........... when we got back to the room and put everything away we realized that there was no oven and we were going to have to cook microwave frozen pizza instead. Yuck!
We also learned this day on our shopping trip and milk in Mexico is NOT refrigerated and comes in a box. While we were at the store we spent hours trying to find milk for our cereal and not until we had walked up and down every isle did we find the shelves with boxes of milk. I must say I was pretty nervous to try this milk but it tasted normal and I did not die from it, so I guess it is okay.
It was also so hot and humid there that Jared could not stand to wear any of his t-shirts that we had packed for him, so while we were at Wal-Mart he bought a pack of tank tops and that is all that he could stand to wear the entire week we were there.
